Most individuals believe that training a dog is hard. Most people also believe that there are dogs that simply cannot be trained. However, all the views are not correct. The truth of the matter is that all dogs are trainable and training a dog does not have to be work that is hard. Indeed, dog training can be fun for any person to do. It is, of course, true that there are breeds of dogs that are easier to train when compared with others. What is not agreeable however is the assertion that there are dogs that cannot be trained because this is not true. What people venture to explore then, are some of the things that a person needs to do so that they will get the right training for their dog.
A person will be deemed to have gotten the training of their dog right in the case that a person manages to pass on the skills that are essential in a way that is enduring. This is to say that a person will not be regarded as having been successful in training their dog in the case that the pooch forgets the skills that a person has been teaching the dog. Therefore, the parameters through which success in training a dog can be measured involve the period of time expended in passing on the skills that are essential to the dog, the inculcated skills in the dog and the time that the skills are retained by a dog.
Of course, in the case that a person is taking too long to pass on given skills to the dog, in the case that a person is finding it impossible to inculcate given skills in the dog, or in the case that a dog will keep on forgetting skills taught to the dog, it does not necessarily mean that a person is not doing this well. A person has to keep it in mind that there are two variables that play here. The first one is the skill, dedication, and aptitude as a person that is training the dog and the second on is the natural ability of the dog.
What is key to the success of dog training is an initiation that is early. In a way that is simple, there are skills that a person can only teach a dog when the dog is young. This means that the belief that is commonly held that puppies below the age of six months should not be trained is very wrong. In fact, there are given skills that a person will find hard to teach a dog that is more than six months old. It is worth for a person to note that just as not for people, dogs are animals that are highly involved. This is why when a puppy loses a mother it can be able to survive in the wild and while it will be hard for a baby of the same age that loses a mother to survive in the same environment.
